Immigrate to Canada in the New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program (NBPNP)
New Brunswick PNP is one of the oldest PNPs. It was first launched in 1999 to bring more immigrants directly to New Brunswick.
In August 2019, New Brunswick announced the goal to triple the number of immigrants to 7,500 annually by 2024. This figure represents about 1% of the total population of the province. New Brunswick also makes efforts to reach a 2% annual increase in French-speaking immigrants. The government wants francophones to reach a level of 33% of the total population by 2024.
What streams there are in the New Brunswick PNP?
As of December 2019, New Brunswick accepts applications in four streams of the two categories. Two of the, are aimed at Skilled Workers and two are designed for Business Immigrants.
New Brunswick admits Skilled Workers applicants via the New Brunswick Express Entry Stream and New Brunswick Skilled Worker Stream.
The New Brunswick Express Entry stream will select from the federal pool of Express Entry, candidates are currently living and working in New Brunswick, and who have a letter of employment from a New Brunswick employer.
The New Brunswick Skilled Worker Stream is aimed at foreign specialists who possess the skills and occupations that are in demand in New Brunswick. Those candidates must also acquire a genuine offer of employment from a New Brunswick employer.
Earlier the province also had the Skilled Workers with Family Support stream, however, this stream was closed in February 2018.
In 2018, New Brunswick accepted 2,745 immigrants. Since 2015, New Brunswick accepted 18,275 immigrants.
In the Entrepreneur Category, NBPNP has two streams for businesspeople: The New Brunswick Entrepreneurial Stream and New Brunswick Post-Graduate Entrepreneurial Stream.
The Entrepreneurial Stream allows foreign nationals who are ready to establish and manage their business in New Brunswick to apply for a provincial nomination.
New Brunswick Post-Graduate Entrepreneurial Stream is designed for those who studied in New Brunswick and operates a business in the province. This stream is helping the province to retain talented graduates who can create new jobs via their entrepreneurial activity.
